Youth Educational Camping - 2025

QUEST FOR THE BEST

2/25/20253 min read

Youth is the most glorious phase of human life, enriched with courage, struggle, and creativity. Breaking through the barriers of fear, laziness, and stagnation, and moving forward with immense speed is the very essence of youth. The collective efforts of young people are the most effective means of building a progressive, prosperous, welfare-oriented, and Creator-conscious humane society.

Our beloved motherland, Bangladesh, is blessed with abundant resources and diverse natural beauty. It is the 8th most populous country in the world and the 4th largest Muslim-majority nation. A significant portion of the country's population consists of young people. According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), nearly 57% of the total population—approximately 8 crore 40 lakhs—are under 29 years old, while 6 crores are aged between 20 and 40. About 10.10% of the population, or approximately 1 crore 71 lakhs 60 thousand and 175, are between 15-19 years old. This means that almost half of the population is of working age, making Bangladesh demographically advantageous. These young individuals will lead both national and global development initiatives.

People are not born with skills; they must acquire them. The proper way to acquire skills is through training. Peter Senge, the author of The Fifth Discipline, recommends five key strategies that help in skill development:

1. Systems Thinking

2. Personal Mastery

3. Mental Models

4. Shared Vision

5. Team Learning

The Honorable Advisor, Mr. Sheikh Bashiruddin, Ministry of Commerce, Textiles and Jute, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was present as the Chief Guest at the inauguration ceremony.

Training is a structured process designed to bring significant changes in three key areas: Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude. According to Nadler (1979), training is the process of acquiring specific skills and competencies within a planned timeframe to achieve particular tasks efficiently. Training is essential for both seniors and juniors alike. Alongside academic and professional education, specialized training plays a crucial role in shaping individuals into prudent and competent professionals, and it greatly contributes to the development of effective leadership.

To instill patriotism, ethics, and a sense of responsibility among the youth, they must cultivate an intense thirst for knowledge, seek learning from authentic and accurate sources, and aspire to develop themselves into skilled human resources. The ultimate goal of acquiring knowledge and skills should not be mere personal success but selfless dedication of one's abilities and potential for the greater good of the nation. In this era of digital transformation, true fulfillment of youth lies in rising above narrow-mindedness, upholding unwavering ethical standards, and engaging in welfare-oriented endeavors.

To inspire young minds with this vision, a five-day-long Youth Educational Camping 2025 has been organized in Kuakata, Patuakhali, bringing together 1,200 selected young individuals from various universities and key professional sectors across the country.

A total of 1,200 delegates are participating in this camp, with 100 delegates in each of the 12 groups/categories.

Dr. Sheikh Yasir Qadhi, a world-renowned scholar, delivered the keynote address at the inauguration ceremony.
